Improv is

In business, improv practice inspires more authentic & inclusive leadership, effective communication, and more collaborative & connected teams. It inspires more productive, innovative individuals and less turnover.
Workshops
Connection & communication
When people feel heard, they listen. Connection is the foundation of powerful communication. Improv at its core, is listening, accepting, and being in the moment.
Community & Collaboration
Adaptable. Resilient. Flexible. Joyful. We celebrate the benefits of diverse perspectives, knowledge and experience of team members while building bridges. Change is inevitable; get on the same page, and roll with the punches.
Custom workshops
No one knows your team like you do. A custom workshop allows us to deliver a tailored experience that supports your goals.
Interactive keynotes
Our interactive keynotes demonstrate improv skills at your conference or summit. In a fun, entertaining talk, we can energise a room and deliver insight on human behaviour. Transform your next event into a memorable experience.
Presence & public speaking
Learn to be present and engaged while delivering your message. Begin to feel comfortable in front of an audience. Your greatest fear becomes your greatest strength.
Leadership
We challenge leaders to actively listen, embrace uncertainty, be curious, to see failure as opportunity, and to champion new ideas in order to create a diverse environment of empowerment.
Benefits of improv
The team working with your team
Derek and Michi Flores bring their playful dialogue to your team supported by a combined 60 years of experience in comedy and improvisation at home and around the world. They have spent the last 12 years teaching together, making shows together, and improvising their lives together.
Derek is a professional performer who likes to work from inside the action. Michi is an actor/clown who has fallen in love with ‘process’ and facilitates from the fringes.
In their workshops, they quickly create a structured yet open environment of trust and safety to practice improv skills that create deeper connections, embrace failing forward, build business critical skills and redirect us to being better humans. They are deliberate in their seeking of joy and play in every group and fiercely defending your right to experience being wrong, and silly, in front of others, and enjoy it. (So you can 'be better at work' wink wink).
We believe, and the science backs us up, that one can read books and listen to amazing speakers, but real change only happens when we have a chance to practice these skills, in a non-judgemental environment, with a healthy dose of laughter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our workshops are a minimum of 2 hours. People need time to feel safe. We don’t want to rush them and bowl them over with improv magic!
We want to gently coax them into remembering how to connect and communicate. This takes time. This is also why we have ½ and FULL DAY options to really get into the work.
Our workshops are 95% doing. The 5% talking is for the purpose of contextualising the exercises and sharing the group’s experience and discoveries.
We create a safe, non-threatening atmosphere where people have a chance to embody improv skills like failing joyfully, without judgment, and get comfortable being uncomfortable, for the purpose of growing and stretching ourselves.
Nope! So much of improv is about basic communication skills that translate to business critical skills. It is heaps of fun and we guarantee there will be laughter, but we are not there to teach anyone to be clever or funny.
We need an open space with no furniture that can accommodate noise and not disturb others in the building. We can come to you, or we can find a space.
Ideally 8-22 participants. If you want something for multiple teams or larger groups, we can do work shops back to back or we can discuss the option of an interactive keynote.
No one believes us, but we consider ourselves introverts, and therefore we are sensitive to introverts in the room. We create a space where there are no stakes. Nobody needs to feel embarrassed. We are mindful of making everyone feel comfortable before we push them, gently, to enjoy the feeling of being a little out of their comfort zone.
